Eastspring Investments appoints Stuart Wilson to lead responsible investing, ESG integration
Eastspring Investments announced recently the appointment of Stuart Wilson to the newly created position of Head of Sustainability. In his new role, he will lead and accelerate the firm’s responsible investment efforts across the business and make sustainability a key part of the culture. Wilson will be responsible for Eastspring’s sustainability team, and will work with investment teams and regional functional leads on the integration of ESG considerations into investment processes, and on the development of sustainability-themed products and solutions.
Moody’s ESG appoints Julia Haake as Managing Director for Market Strategy
Moody’s ESG Solutions Group announced recently the appointment of Julia Haake to the newly created role of Managing Director for Market Strategy. In her new role, Haake will be responsible for shaping Moody’s commercial sustainability and ESG strategy. Haake will report to Andrea Blackman, Global Head of Moody’s ESG Solutions. Blackman said: “Our comprehensive solutions suite helps organizations achieve sustainable growth by providing trusted ESG data and insights to better inform strategic planning, investment decisions, and risk analysis. Julia’s experience in sustainability and ESG makes her the ideal person to strengthen our offerings and communicate the exciting news about the depth and breadth of Moody’s tools and domain expertise.”
AIG appoints Constance Hunter as Global Head of Strategy & ESG
Global insurance company American International Group recently announced the appointment of Constance Hunter as Executive Vice President, Global Head of Strategy & ESG. According to an internal memo seen by ESG Today, in her new role, Hunter will help AIG accelerate progress to support businesses around the world as they navigate challenges, particularly related to climate change, and deliver on the firm’s ESG commitments. Hunter will report directly to AIG President & CEO Peter Zaffino, and will join the company’s Executive Leadership Team.
Florida city hires first Sustainability Manager to promote green practices
Florida city Coral Springs has hired its first sustainability manager, Monica Ospina, responsible for overseeing green initiatives and addressing concerns over climate change in government operations. Coral Springs has joined other cities across the nation in creating sustainability offices in recent years to deal with rising seas and changing weather patterns as well as work to reduce damage associated with global warming. One of her first goals in working for Coral Springs will be to oversee the formation of a “sustainability action plan.”
Delta announces appointment of Pamela Fletcher as Chief Sustainability Officer
Delta Air Lines recently announced that it has hired Pamela Fletcher to the newly created role of Chief Sustainability Officer. Fletcher will join the firm in 2022 from automotive giant General Motors, where she currently serves as Vice President of Global Innovation. In a memo to Delta employees announcing the appointment, CEO Ed Bastian said: “As we move into the next phase of the recovery, we’ll be building on our sustainability efforts and expanding our leading position in the industry on our path to net zero. I’m happy to announce that Pamela Fletcher will be joining Delta to lead that effort as our new Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer – the airline industry’s only C-Suite level CSO.”
