Monic Uriarte has been a community health promoter with Esperanza Community Housing Corporation for the last 22 years. She is a pioneer advocate of the Los Angeles Healthy Homes project, her direct contact with community members has given her the knowledge of struggles and insights to the needs of the neighborhood she lived and serves in. She is an adamant fighter for social justice in her day-to-day life and is committed to the health and human rights in her work in environmental justice; she is a co-founder of People Not Pozos campaign aiming for the permanent closure of AllenCo Energy and oil drilling operation surrounded.
