Many thousands of years ago, in the acidic hot springs at what is today Yellowstone National Park, a remarkable microbe evolved. Fast forward to 2008 when one of our founding members, a PhD student researching extreme life at the park with support from NASA, identified and discovered this naturally occurring microorganism. A single sample was collected by researchers under permit without negatively impacting the park’s environment or hot springs. We then isolated the microorganism and named it Fusarium strain yellowstonensis. Cultivating our microorganism using our breakthrough fermentation technology, we now produce our complete protein, Fy™. Due to Fy’s™ unique versatility, we can create many great-tasting foods that nourish people and nurture the planet.
