Basic Function of the Position: The Senior Content Marketing Manager collaborates with the sales, content and operations teams to build and enhance our audience database in order to drive audience acquisition, retention and growth through the creation of digital and visual assets. Focus areas include:

Branded Content: Create and drive the editorial content strategy to support Planet Home’s overall goals and promote the brand’s products and key messages, develop content topics based on user interests and industry trends, research & write original content, manage contributing writers, edit articles submitted by third-party contributors.

Marketing: Work closely with the Director of Marketing to develop and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns, with a particular emphasis on leading content marketing components.

SEO: Manage SEO strategy, execute ongoing optimizations of the website, keep up with Google’s algorithm changes and adapt strategy when necessary, and track progress towards ranking for our target keywords.

Copywriting: Write copy to support the content needs of every channel, including the website, micro-actions platform, social, email, ads, video descriptions, event descriptions, and internal documents.

Creative Strategy: Collaborate with the larger creative team to provide additional perspective and guidance on Planet Home’s creative strategy, helping develop and lead creative projects.
- Communications: Manage Planet Home’s communications strategy, including direct communication between brand and users/solutionists, prepping brand reps for media appearances, external newsletters, and internal brand resources.
Duties of this position include:
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development program(s) that enables the execution of the content strategy, leveraging external contributors to carry out the company’s content and branding needs
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of content contributors, including entry-level writers/researchers and industry leaders.
- Create a content strategy that enables PH to achieve its goals of increasing brand awareness, uplifting Solutionists, promoting action among users, and educating others on area/sector topics.
- Lead development of brand lexicon and execute the production of all branding materials, from internal records, decks, to website copy and media
- Act as project manager for all media related efforts, across video, social, and digital
- Act as producer for content experiences such as video scripts and storyboarding and online events
- Provide ongoing SEO direction and site maintenance
- Manage internal communication tools, developing the copy for brand materials (such as product descriptions)
- Manage the end to end process of Planet Home’s media output, from topic ideation, to editing, to output, to measurement
- Help develop and execute marketing campaigns
- Audience research
- Produce copy for brand materials
- Write high-engagement content
- Translate complex ideas into consumer-friendly content
- Assist marketing with content marketing materials
- Act as coordinator for sales/marketing projects
- Review and approve copy for marketing team
- Evaluate trends
- Participate in creative brainstorms
Required Skills & Experience:
- Master’s in Communications Management; Bachelor’s in Media Studies or related field
- 5-7 years experience in Journalism, Editorial
- 4-6 years experience in Digital Marketing and Content Creation (web, social)
- 3-5 years experience in PR, Advertising, SEO Copywriting
- Content strategy
- Project management
- Ability to write copy for social, editorial, brand materials, marketing
- Strong editing capabilities
- Ability to manage a team of contributing writers
- Strong understanding of SEO concepts
- Brand development
- Desire and ability to thrive working in a fast paced environment
