JOB TITLE: Climate Solutions Reporter Planet Home, LLC. is an environmental solution-focused platform created by and for thinkers and change-makers who are dedicated to solving our planet’s greatest challenges. Basic Function of the Position: Solutions Reporters are responsible for generating pitches,researching, writing, editing and publishing informational articles and features for PLANET HOME. This includes research and outreach to experts, interviewing key stakeholders, gathering first hand accounts and producing cohesive, informative and engaging stories for audiences. .  The duties of this position include:

• Write 3-5 climate solutions stories a month 
• Research companies that are doing innovative work around planetary solutions
• Perform outreach to companies to connect with key stakeholders/leaders in sectors including but not limited to technology, environment, business, etc. 
• Schedule interviews and record, transcribe as well as provide materials as assets
• Cover local, national and international topics that highlight businesses innovating environmental solutions
• Effectively and professionally illustrate the complexity of the issues while being unbiased
• Experience in photography or graphic design desirable

Required Skills And Experience:

• Experience in journalism, reporting or equivalent with a portfolio to share
• An innate ability to get people to share their stories; translate the material  to produce engaging pieces
• Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Extensive scheduling, tracking and resource management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to devote high attention to detail, organize and prioritize
• A passion to inspire everyone to become Solutionists through engaging stories and information sharing
• Ability to address multiple tasks and unforeseen developments which require level headedness and purpose
• Ability to recognize and respect organizational protocols and procedures

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity writing about Technology, Business and/or Environmental issues and solutions
• Established connections in the Tech, Business and/or Environmental space
• Knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite, Airtable, Egnyte and other technology platforms
• Experience with virtual events Needed Attributes:

• The successful candidate will be required to work well under pressure in a time-critical environment, maintain a positive “can-do” attitude, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and possess the ability to motivate others
• This individual must be a self-starter, able to make sound business decisions, be a creative problem-solver and able to perform job duties with minimal supervision
• A steadfast commitment to, and demonstration of unselfishness, meaningful contribution to the team by providing other departments with pertinent and timely reports, news and requests
