5 Vegan Creators That You Need to Follow

Whether you’re on Instagram or TikTok, there are a number of food pages that focus on plant-based recipes. Find a few vegan/vegetarian influencers whose content you love and your favorite recipes from them (include links to video clips). What inspires their content?

  1. @TheKoreanVegan on TikTok

If you’re unfamiliar with The Korean Vegan, Joanne Lee Molinaro, she recently quit her job as a lawyer of 17 years to be a full time content creator earlier this month. From start to finish, her journey with law was a wild one and she finally decided that her life needed more living. Inspired by her family and the foods she grew up with, Joanne started her TikTok as a small hobby.

Now, with 2.7 million followers on TikTok, Joanne shares a lot of Asian vegan recipes, her journey as a runner and most recently, a cookbook entitled: The Korean Vegan Cookbook! Her recipe for kimchi is a must try!

  1. @iamtabithabrown on TikTok

Known for her amazing voice and comforting tone, Tabitha shares various vegan alternatives for everyday comfort meals. “Like so like that!” Tabitha’s content also focuses on reusing materials and reducing waste.

Tabitha, dubbed by herself: The World’s Favorite Mom, released a limited edition all-purpose seasoning with Mccormick Kitchens back in July. Inspired by her personality and the message she hopes to spread, the seasoning is called Sunshine! Stay tuned to see if they will release more as they are currently not being sold.

Tabitha’s platform really grew throughout the pandemic. I personally remember seeing her videos in the earlier days of quarantining in New York and she truly brought me so much comfort and joy. Now she brings 4.9 million people on TikTok comfort and joy with her recipes, jokes and positivity!

At the beginning of October, Tabitha reached a new level of spreading positivity by hitting the NY Times #1 Bestseller list with her book: Feeding the Soul. A little snippet of her book: “She was an aspiring actress who in 2016 began struggling with undiagnosed chronic autoimmune pain. Her condition made her believe she wouldn’t live to see 40 – until she started listening to what her soul and her body truly needed. Now, in this life-changing book, Tabitha shares the wisdom she gained from her own journey, showing fans how to make a life for themselves that is rooted in nonjudgmental kindness and love, both for themselves and for others.” I don’t know about you but this is definitely next on my book list!

  1. Lizzo

A well-known icon to the music industry and body positivity movement, Lizzo has recently transitioned to a vegan diet. Lizzo is sharing delicious environmentally friendly recipes with us, which I think we could all learn something from. Do your thing and dance like nobody’s watching!

Lizzo has been experimenting with raw veganism, which to refresh you is when you’re consuming mostly organic, uncooked and unprocessed foods. Your diet will consist primarily of vegetables, nuts, seeds, fruits, grains, etc. She seems to be taking this very seriously as she is avoiding most, if not all, animal by-products!

Lizzo stated in a recent interview that being raw has a lot of internal benefits- it strengthens your immune system and digestive system and overall boosts your energy. Lizzo said that these internal benefits are what matters to her, not the exterior details – meaning the stereotype of what a certain diet should make you look like. Yes queen!

  1. @rainbowplantlife on Instagram

Nisha Vora, @rainbowplantlife on Instagram is a well-known vegan chef, author and youtuber! She focuses on living a cleaner and happier life and has a cookbook called the Vegan Instant Pot Cookbook, which I think is a really awesome source of information for those trying to work on less animal based products but still benefit from the convenience of quicker ways to cook. Who doesn’t love the convenience of an instant pot?

Nisha’s recipe for vegan pumpkin bread is to die for and fortunately it’s the perfect time to try it!

  1. @sovegan on Instagram

With 434 thousand instagram followers, @SoVegan, UK-based couple Roxy and Ben, share easier ways to eat more plants! Roxy and Ben share all kinds of vegan recipes, including pastas, desserts, sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. Their niche is one pot recipes with easy recipes and low ingredients!

Did you know that mushrooms are a rich source of fiber, protein and antioxidants? I’m personally not a huge fan of mushrooms on their own, but Roxy and Ben’s mushroom ravioli recipe is a delicious way to get in some more nutrients!

There are so many health benefits to eating vegan, but please be sure to talk to your doctor before making any huge lifestyle changes like this! Please prioritize making sure your body is getting the nutrients it needs!

A 2020 study found that eating a vegan diet can be the single biggest way to reduce your environmental impact. Because you are not consuming or adding to the demand for animal related products, you can individually decrease the level of greenhouse gas emissions.

If you are not able to fully commit to going vegan, even just one meal a day can make a huge difference! Substituting vegan pancakes or bread (most bread is vegan) for breakfast instead of eggs and bacon can make all the difference!
